Terms of use

1. Using the site

Everything published here is free to read, run and take. You do not need an account, and there is no limit on how much you read.

What we ask you not to do:

• scrape the site in a way that degrades it for others
• republish whole articles as your own work
• attempt to reach parts of the system you have not been given access to
• submit content you do not have the right to submit

2. The articles

The writing is ours. You may quote it with attribution and a link, use anything you learn from it freely, and share the links anywhere.

You may not republish articles in full — on a blog, in a newsletter, in a book, or as training data sold on — without asking first. Ask; the answer is often yes.

Many articles also appear on dev.to, published by the same author. Where they do, this site is the original and carries the canonical link.

3. The code

Code samples inside articles, and the playgrounds attached to them, are MIT licensed. Copy them into your work without attribution and without asking.

Packages published under this name are separately licensed in their own repositories — MIT unless a repository says otherwise.

4. Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account, so use a password you do not use elsewhere. Tell us if you think it has been compromised and we will end every active session on it.

We may suspend an account that is used to spam, harass, or attack the site. We will say why.

You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time, and it will be.

5. What you submit

If you submit a package, write an article for the site, or leave a comment, you keep ownership of it. You give us permission to publish it here, edit it for clarity and length, and show it alongside our own content.

Submissions are reviewed before they appear. We can decline anything without owing you an explanation, though you will usually get one.

Do not submit anything that is not yours to give.

6. Quizzes and certificates

A certificate records that you passed a quiz on this site on a particular date. It carries a serial anyone can check.

It is not an accredited qualification, it is not recognised by any institution, and it says nothing about you beyond that one result. Present it as what it is.

7. Price

Everything currently on the site is free, and anything already published free stays free.

Courses will be paid when they exist. If that ever changes for content you already have access to, we will tell you before it happens rather than after.

8. Availability

This runs on a single small server, maintained by one person. It will occasionally be down, and there is no uptime guarantee. Do not build anything you depend on around it continuing to answer.

9. No warranty

The content is offered as-is. It is written carefully and tested where testing is possible, but technical writing goes stale, browsers change, and mistakes get published. Verify anything before you rely on it in production.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from following what you read here.

10. Changes and contact

These terms may change. The date at the top moves when they do, and material changes will be announced rather than slipped in.
